End of the BTS line, Bangna sees now many new condo projects and shopping centers being built and opened making it a great investment for future.
Since the plan for extension of BTS line to Bangna, a lot of new condominium projects have started in this area. There are also some very new shopping malls rising here and there.
Sukhumvit 101/1 and Sukhumvit 103 and of course Bangna Trad road lead directly to Srinagarindra road. There is also an express way accessible nearby making it very convenient to commute.
As this area is quite new, there are only a few foreigners living there. You will find mainly thai workers and students living in this area in the condominiums and many villages / houses along the roads. The population is not very dense with mainly houses or 3 stories buildings.
A lot of people are using the BTS to commute so the population increases temporarily in the morning / evening with busses dropping passengers and personal cars along the roads leading to sukhumvit.
As usual Sukhumvit is subject to heavy traffic in the morning and evening when workers are commuting. However the express way crossing bangna helps in making the flow of cars more smooth.
A few BTS stations have been opened from On Nut to Bangna. They are: Bang Chak (soi 96 and 62), Punnawithi (soi 101 and 64), Udom Suk (soi 103 and 66), Bang Na (giving access to Bitec and Bangna Trad road) and finally Bearing (soi 105 also called Lasalle, 107 also called Bearing and soi 70 on the other side).
A few local shopping malls will help you find your groceries. You will also choose Tesco Lotus On Nut, or Big C Bangna for more shopping while the Tesco Lotus of Seacon Square, Makro and Big C Srinakarin could also be some other choices.
Now if you look for some department store there is Central Bangna just next to Big C (on Bangna Trad road) and Seacon Square or Paradise Park on Sringarindra will be your best picks. Then you can also take the BTS to transit to the center of Bangkok. Note also the newly opened IKEA and Mega Bangna on the Bangna Trad road.
Note that some new shopping center projects are currently being built so check along Sukhumvit road you may discover some nice places that did not exist at the time I am writing this page.
Bangna Hospital and Thai Nakarin Hospital are located near Central Bangna, on Bangna Trad road. You can also use the BTS line to go to other hospital like Sukhumvit Hospital near Ekamai station or Samitivej Hospital in soi 49 (BTS Phrom Phong or Thonglor).
Another choice will be Sirindhorn Hospital on Srinagarindra road but it may not be the most convenient to reach depending of where your condo is.
Bangna, very similarly to On Nut, is popular for thai food with some exceptions of international cuisine. Then again you can go to the shopping malls (see shopping section) to get some more choices but if you are looking for something really different then the nearest place would be Thonglor. Note that this may change rapidly with the new shopping villages being built in bangna.
There may be some clubs if you want to party but I would recommend again that you take the BTS to Thonglor so you will have more choices.
