Going as far as Suvarnabhumi, On Nut sees many popular condo names along its road and is constantly booming with activity.
On Nut was previously the terminal station of the Sukhumvit BTS line. This has changed recently as the line was extended to a few more stations.
All facilities are to be found there with many shopping malls and condominiums for every taste. Sukhumvit soi 50 and 52 feature some nice condominiums with an easy access to the express way nearby. Sukhumvit soi 77 (On Nut road) sees new condos being built every year, the road is a very long one that actually pass Srinagarindra road and links to Suvarnabhumi airport!
On Nut is mostly an area where you will find thai people and a few foreigner living there. However as more and more projects are being built and the area is well deserved with busses and the BTS the population is growing rapidly. Prices are usually not too expensive and linked to some major roads many office workers and students choose it.
On Nut can see a heavy traffic when workers are commuting and it remains usually quite dense as the road links to express ways and some other main roads like Srinagarindra, Sukhumvit and Patthanakarn among others. This is something to consider if you are driving, check out the traffic nearby to be sure you won't be too much disturbed with it.
The nearest BTS station is On Nut, on Sukhumvit road. You can also access an airport express stations from Srinagarindra Road (Hua Mak).
Directly next to the BTS station you will find a Tesco Lotus. There is also a Big C at the entrance of the On Nut road. This should be more than enough for replenishing your fridge or basic shopping but then for fashion or clothes hunting you will be looking for more.
Then you can go to Seacon Square on Srinagarindra road with plenty of restaurants and shops, movies for your week-end relaxation. Still if you are bored with it then why not just choose to take the BTS and join of the numerous shopping center of Bangkok?
Well this is one of the lack of On Nut: there are no hospital directly on the street there. However as the BTS station is nearby, you will simply want to take it and go to the Sukhumvit Hospital next to Ekamai BTS or Samitivej on soi 49 (BTS Phrom Phong or Thonglor).
If you are not too far from Srinagarindra road, you can try also Sirindhorn Hospital located next to the intersection of On Nut with Srinagarindra road.
On Nut features a lot of very good local thai restaurants and some other cuisine as well. Of course you will always find restaurants in the shopping centers as well (Tesco, Big C and Seacon Square).
Now if you are looking for party, you will surely want to join some other area (Thonglor) but this should not be much a problem with the BTS line.
